Sleeping

This is the first time Ben has fallen asleep in an odd place. We were literally in Home Depot for less than five minutes and on our way out to the car when I noticed that he was asleep in the cart.

Utah Natural History Museum

Every first Monday of the month the Utah Natural History Museum is free. We took advantage of that on May 3. The kids loved it. Jack is way into dinosaurs right now (his favorite show is Dinosaur Train on PBS.) There were live bugs, Freemont Indian artifacts, dinosaur bones, and fossils at the museum. They even had the animatronics dinosaur that you could throw a coin down his throat and he would talk to you (that was there when I was a kid.) Also, on the first Monday they have a "phun with physics" presentation. Julia and Moby really liked it but Jack got a little bored and went to dig for fossils. It was fun. We don't get to do things with Moby very often. He is usually at work, school, or doing his church obligations. So this night was extra special for the kids.

The Aquarium

On April 16, we went to the aquarium with Alesha, Ethan, and Sydney. The kids had a lot of fun running around together. My kids still don't like to touch the sting rays. But they liked to watch the penguins. The penguins were really fun to watch and way more active than the penguins at the zoo. Here are some pictures from that fun day.

Julia's new look

Julia is getting so big. She lost her first tooth on Tuesday night. It has been loose for almost a month. On Tuesday night she said it was hurting her and she wanted me to pull it out.  We tried for about 15 minutes and then got Moby's help. Julia did not like that. Moby pulled pretty hard and it hurt her. I told her we would try again in a couple of days when it was more ready, but she wanted it out then. After Moby's attempt I was able to get it out. She cried for a minute but mostly from the little bit of blood that she saw and tasted. She put the tooth under her pillow and in the morning she had one whole dollar. She was excited!

Easter Sunday

This year Easter Sunday was an extra special day. General conference happened to be on the same day this year. It was wonderful. I loved conference and all of the talks on families, parenting, and how to raise righteous children.
As always, the Easter Bunny left string for the kids to follow to find their Easter baskets. This year he was tricky and left each basket in a different car. One thing the bunny wasn't expecting was the snow that came in the middle of the night and covered his string and made it wet and yucky. The kids got so excited when they saw their string. After baskets we went to Moby's parents' house to watch conference and eat a huge, delicious breakfast. After the first session, we went to my parents' house for ham and funeral potatoes and to watch the second session of conference. When that was over, the kids got to have an Easter egg hunt. Their eggs had candy and little prizes in them. The kids absolutely loved it. They loved it so much that after we got home they had several more hunts, hiding and finding the eggs themselves.
It was a very special, spiritual, and fun Easter/conference Sunday.

Colored Easter Eggs

On Sunday, March 28 we went to my parents' house to have a barbeque and color Easter eggs. It was a yummy meal!!! The kids loved coloring the eggs. Jack found it much easier to use his hands when it came to getting the eggs out of the dye. When he was done his hands were an odd sort of green color. The kids also got to be outside, they love being outside. It was a nice warm day. Thanks for the great food and fun Mom and Dad.
